College Essay
The ages range from 41 to two years old. That makes for an interesting and fun time shopping for gifts. For my Older siblings I like to get them a gift card to their favorite places, such as Forever 21, Kohl’s, Dunking’ Doughnuts, and other places. My younger siblings are harder to shop for. I am right in the middle of the twelve kids, so I am number six. That means I have to shop for six younger siblings. The youngsters all want exactly what they ask for, and so usually I get the kids clothes, and a small toy that they pick from a catalog that is no more than $10.
My parents are very easy to shop for, I get my dad a couple bags of ink doughnuts coffee, and I get my mom a gift card to benefits and write her a love letter. Two days after Christmas my whole family aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, boyfriends, kids, and the dogs all pack up and head down to North Carolina. We stay at my beach house until the morning of New Year’s Eve. We leave around one in the morning to get back on time to settle down and celebrate New Year’s Day. My mom and dad bought a beach house in Corolla North Carolina three years ago.
We all go down; we don’t have cable or internet there, so we bring games like Fictional, Monopoly, and Dominoes. We play games, talk, laugh, cry, and have a good time. I love to help my mom cook Christmas dinner. My mother is a very good cook and only lets the kids do the easy things like cracking eggs or mixing something. Once I turned thirteen could finally help my mom do the more complicated cooking. Some of the things that we make for dinner are three turkeys, hams, thirty pounds of mashed potatoes, a lot of string bean casserole, angel eggs (devised eggs my mom doesn’t like to call them that), yams, corn, and a whole lot more.
Some things we make for desert are mumping cheese cake, cheese cake, pies or all kinds, chocolate chip cookies, fizzles, and ginger bread men/women. The only thing like more than making dinner is eating it with my family. All these reasons are why like Christmas. If my family were to have Christmas without one Of these components, then I don’t think Christmas would be my favorite holiday. I love shopping for my family members, love going to my beach house with amiably, and love making and eating dinner with my family. Christmas is all about family. I love my family, and I love Christmas.
