Story Review: Red Truck
When he found it he wouldn’t tell so he hid it until now 44 years later. He still holds a grudge to his brothers for bulling him, so when he finds his truck he runs to his mother and tells that his brother left it behind and it was the brother who took it and hid it. Characterize Final Final is almost fifty years Old, he didn’t think he was going to be that Old, and so his behavior is still like a young man. His friends advise him to get a real job and behave his age and save for retirement.
That is said in the first page line ID. He works as a sculpture. A thing that shows that he isn’t acting his gees is also his choice of girlfriends “his partners were always the same age – their late he is not dating women his own age, and he is afraid of commitment that is shown in page 1 line 18 “a shifting cast of girlfriends” he is not keeping any girl and haven’t started a family. He is the youngest of three brothers, and his big brothers were always bulling him as a kid. Final still holds a grudge fore that time.
We see that in the end where Final runs to his mother and blames the brother for hiding his red truck all this years. When e was young he was good at playing handball and writing. But he chooses a different way to live by making art. He doesn’t have a good relationship to his mother, because the mother wasn’t calling him but his girlfriend, and he is getting mad when he found out that it was to his mother’s place they were going “There’s no way I’m going there” (p. 11. 25) so he really didn’t want to go there.
He is immature, petty and stubborn because he still won’t forgive his brother. And he still blames him for taking the truck even though it was himself who lost it The role of the red truck The red truck was the most precious thing from his childhood, it was the first thing he thought of when he woke up in the morning. When he played with it he forgot everything else. It was like a best friend for him. And it was his own toy, not some of his brothers presented toys he was used to.
He felt more mature and manly, because he was kind of like his father who worked and had a truck on the applecart. He wouldn’t give the truck away because no one would care about it as much as he did, and he couldn’t just throw it away because it meant so much to him, that’s why he ended up hiding it all these ears, because he couldn’t tell the family that he was the one who lost it, and not the brother he blamed. Sibling rivalry In every family with more than one kid, there is a fight between the kids.
The oldest kid is jealous of the youngest one for getting more attention and the youngest is jealous of the more responsibility the oldest gets. Some siblings are worse than others, but think every household whit kids have seen some fights. The fights are often to get the attention of the parents, because they all want to be the favorite child. The age difference is also important, because if there is a large difference the children aren’t playing as much together as the siblings around same age.
But as we get older and move out of home the bound changes, for some the siblings are getting closer when the parents aren’t around. And some are just not talking together anymore now they don’t have to. So I don’t think that the rivalry between siblings really stops because it is your family, you can’t just get rid of them as you can whit friends you don’t like. Even if you don’t talk to your siblings, they will still be your family.
