Men who hold doors are now viewed as part of the patriarchal society’. According to this poi NT of view, a man holding a door for a woman can easily be accused of sexism, or is assume De to have ulterior motives. This mainstream way Of thinking makes men less likely to be “Chivalrous”, even if they want to be. Our society today does not seem to want Chivalry. Women as a whole have b come a lot more independent, so some “loadstone’s” things such as holding doors pop n, or pulling out a chair for a girl may make some angry, but it does not make chivalry dead.

Another way of viewing its evolution is from the way we view relationships, an d the impact music and social media has had on those views. The lyrics of most music now days can be seen as disrespectful to women and people often look up to musicians as role models, or they will see what others are posting online and act the same way to fit in. She also noted her surprise that it IS rare to see anybody even utter a simple thank you nowadays. This makes it seem like we don’t want chivalry, because we do not appreciate it. Chivalry is not dead, but has changed in many ways, especially in recent years with the rise in the feminist movement and the idea of needing to be independent.
