Chivalry speech
Men who hold doors are now viewed as part of the patriarchal society’. According to this poi NT of view, a man holding a door for a woman can easily be accused of sexism, or is assume De to have ulterior motives. This mainstream way Of thinking makes men less likely to be “Chivalrous”, even if they want to be. Our society today does not seem to want Chivalry. Women as a whole have b come a lot more independent, so some “loadstone’s” things such as holding doors pop n, or pulling out a chair for a girl may make some angry, but it does not make chivalry dead.
Kerr sissy Moore states that “It’ NOT that we think as a MAN you HAVE to do these things for us, it comes from the idea of showing you care and WANT to because it’s what YOU think is right Chivalry has evolved in the sense that it is not the act that matters itself, but t he thought and intent behind the act. When being Chivalrous one does not expect any type of reward the point Of it is to improve yourself as a human being. It can also be viewed as co moon courtesy, so it should be expected.
Another way of viewing its evolution is from the way we view relationships, an d the impact music and social media has had on those views. The lyrics of most music now days can be seen as disrespectful to women and people often look up to musicians as role models, or they will see what others are posting online and act the same way to fit in. This Soc itty is high in group mentality, so it is easy to blame an entire gender or group for the “decline neo in chivalry, but really everyone has affected chivalry, either in the way they act or in their view on it. Cording to Jordan Harbinger, we should stop whining that chivalry is dead a ND do something about it. The results of the questionnaire stated that many people often mistake being chivalrous as flirting, but that not the case. Martin Daubed pointed out that he blames the feminist movement because of some extremist pages (some of these pages claim that there is sexism in cereal brands). Although some men are rude, or may have other motives, most are being genuine. Do not mistake the acts of a few for an entire gender.
As Crisis also stated in her paper “Part of the problem is that there are so many people out there who AR e rude, men and women alike”. She also noted her surprise that it IS rare to see anybody even utter a simple thank you nowadays. This makes it seem like we don’t want chivalry, because we do not appreciate it. Chivalry is not dead, but has changed in many ways, especially in recent years with the rise in the feminist movement and the idea of needing to be independent. So guys d onto do nice things expecting some personal gain. Do them to be nice.
