Teen Curfew

Teen curfews have been in debate in most major cities for a while now. Parents and city council members have been trying to push laws to have young adults home safe and sound where they should be at a more reasonable time. Teen curfews are a good idea and should be enforced. Not only would it show more responsibility on the young adult’s part, but it would support teen safety. Another advantage to a curfew is that it would will help teens to be less sleep deprived. Responsibility is something that takes time to learn.

We all had to go through those trial and error moments where we have to find our on way, or learn new things. Teen curfews would help enable that sense of responsibility and trust. Teens would have their set time to return home, and the parents would allow them to have the freedom they desire. Teens also learn to be considerate of others instead of just thinking about themselves. In a way a curfew helps prepare them for the future by helping them to be prepared to be able to handle being a responsible young adult once when they reach that age.

It would allow the teen to know what is expected of them. The most rewarding quality of being a responsible teen is how much your parents can trust you and know that you are able to make the right choices. With all the gangs, crime and kidnappings, it would proved the teen with a sense of safety. It’s very dangerous to be out in the streets so late at night, especially for young girls. By keeping young people off the streets at night, parents feel curfews will protect teens from becoming victims of crime. Sometimes, it’s very easy to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

And most teens don’t realize the situation is bad until it’s too late. And since most teens are able to drive or know someone who does, they end up being caught up with the police or even worse, in an accident. Then not only do they have the potential of losing their license and vehicle, but their parents will not be so trusting with them. Most young people do not agree with the curfew at the time, but they soon thank their parents when they realize why they had a set curfew. Curfews help young adults get use to following a normal routine schedule by being home before a certain time each night.

One of the advantage of curfew is to help make sure that teens aren’t out all night getting into trouble with other young adults. It will also help them get enough sleep at night since they have to be home by a certain time. They will be able to function better at school also with work cause of getting more sleep at night instead of at parties all night. And having a set sleeping pattern will help with any other problems that a teen may have. Whether it’s depression, or even lack of focus. Sleep helps eliminate a lot of the problems associated with concentration and focus.

And we all know that a good nights rest helps anyone to function when it comes to making sure they are prepared for class. There is always those teens who don’t do anything wrong, and still have to pay for those who make mistakes. Some may argue that they are already responsible and, are completely capable of following the guidelines that their parents have lain down. Teen curfews would affect them, and even though some of them may work late at night, or even have other duties that might keep them out past the curfew. It never hurt anyone to have some boundaries set, even if the teen can be trusted.

Even though they are responsible, and know to stay out of trouble, it still helps them. It keeps them from falling in with the wrong crowd, or even falling into a situation that might cause them trouble. Teen curfews would be a good idea to help young adults with responsibility, safety, and sleep. Maybe with curfews, we can help decline the negative impact on how teens are viewed from staying out so late at night. We all would like to have healthy and responsible young adults, and they will thank you later in life when they realize what you have done for them. We all must do our part in helping them to grow and become responsible adults.
