In the songs he wrote to make a difference, his lyrics ay what is wrong with the world and how he wants to change it. They are about helping the environment, diversity, hunger, children, and much more. Michael Jackson was born in Indiana and had 10 brothers and sisters. From an early age Michael was in the entertaining business. He was performing in the Jackson 5 when he was just six years old. Michael did not have a childhood because of this. He was always practicing and performing. He was constantly working. No six years old should be working as much as he did.
His father (Joe) didn’t make it any better. Joe constantly criticized Michael and abused him. In 2003, Joe admitted to whipping Michael when he was younger. Michael said how his dad called him “big nose. “This may sound bad, but in an interview with Opera Michael said, “He wouldn’t change his childhood in retrospect because it made him the man he was. It made him attuned to the needs of suffering children. “-Opera. Com. Because of Michaels dad abused him, it made Michael want to change himself. For all the abuse Michael received he wanted to help suffering children.
Michael Jackson tried to work with children whenever he could. He wanted to help them have a better childhood than he did and he contributed to multiple charities that help children. For example, Big Brothers Big Sisters. It is an organization where celebrities help children try to reach their potential with one-on-one relationships. Michael also got involved with Star Light Children Foundation. Brightening the lives of seriously and terminally ill children in order to take their minds off the pain, fear and isolation of their illness. Another is one that Michael Developed on his own called Heal The Kids.
Heal The Kids was set up o develop a campaign to help parents and adults around the world to educate them on the importance of reapportioning their lives in order to bring children into the main focus in order to imbue them with the love and devotion which they so badly need and to stop the cycle of neglect. These are just some examples of some the charities Michael did with children. Others are: ; Camp Ronald McDonald Children U. S. A. Children’s Institute International Cities and Schools Scholarship Fund Community Youth Sports & Arts Foundation ; Dreamiest Kids Michael Jackson has been a part of many other charities as well.
According to Guinness Book of World Records, Michael Jackson has the record for the “Most Charities Supported By a pop Star”. It states that Michael Jackson has supported 39 charity organizations either with monetary donations through sponsorships of their projects or by participating in their silent auction. Michael Jackson has been apart of charities not only with children but also with people who have cancer, AIDS, African-Americans and others. In 1985 Michael Jackson and Lionel Archie wrote the song ‘Mel are the World” to help raise money to stop hunger in Africa.
The point of the song was to get the top 45 artists of the time and get them to use their talent to help raise money for Africa. Within in less than 3 months of the video being released, it helped raised 50 million dollars for Africa. After Michael had finished up with other artists, he was leaving the studio with his manager. They came across a sea of reporters and Michael was rushed away but he said that he’d let the song speak for itself. He didn’t write it to make publicity. He wrote it to help starving people. In 201 0, after Michael died, there was the Haiti earthquake. Nell Archie decided to do the 25th anniversary of “We are the World” to help raise money for Haiti. Michael Jackson was known for being a singer. His best way to get across what he wanted to say he did through his music. He has made a countless number of songs that help deal with issues in the world or about just helping people. For example there was “We are the World” as I have already talked about. One song that is about diversity is called “Black or White. ” The song is of course that whether you are black or white, or any other color in between we can all get along with each other.
In the song the main part is where he would say, “you can be my brother it don’t matter if you’re black or white. ” Another song is called “Earth Song’. This he wrote about all the problems in the world and how we don’t even notice and have even realize. Towards the end of the song there is a part where he lists of different problems in the world. Before I listened to it, I never thought about these things. It really opened my mind and to think about all the problems in the world. Which leads me to the next song which is the anthem for changing the world and helping yourself….
Man in the Mirror” this song is about how we all agree there are problems in the world but we don’t do anything about it. He says that if you want to make the world a better place took a look at the man in the mirror and change him (a. K. A. Change yourself to change the world. ) His songs are very inspirational and are music videos make them even better. These are just few songs that I mentioned. Others are: “They Don’t Really Care About us” “Heal the Worldly Are Not Alone” Michael Jackson is an Architect of Hope because he was able to help the world and people through doing what he loved.
