Ezekiel prophecy began a mere five years into his time at Tillable, and he continued to prophesy among the people for at least twenty- woo years (29:17). Because he spoke to a people whom God had exiled due to their continued rebellion against Him, a majority of Ezekiel message communicates judgment for sins committed (1:1-?32:32). However, like all the prophets, he also provided his people, now without a land of their own, some hope for the future. The book of Ezekiel pronounces judgment on both Israel and surrounding nations.
However, it also gives a vision of the future millennial kingdom that completes and adds to the vision of other Old and New Testament books. Not only does the book present a striking picture of the resurrection and estimation of God’s people, but it also offers us a picture of the reconstructed temple in Jerusalem, complete with the return of God’s glory to His dwelling place. This latter part of Ezekiel prophecy looks forward to the people’s worship after the return of Christens in the end times, when He will rule Israel and the nations from His throne in Jerusalem during His thousand year reign.
Ezekiel 38 and 39 and Revelation 20 reflect on what will happen in the future. The events in these chapters talk about what is going to take place after the seven year tribulation on earth. ABOUT EZEKIEL 38 AND 39 Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 portray a war between Go and Magma. This part of the Word of God tells us how Go of Magma and its armies from the North will threaten the nation of Israel who will have been restored by that time. However, the opposing armies will be destroyed by God. Therefore, “Go and Magma appear as the ultimate enemies, a nameless, faceless horde that attacks the people of God. This will be a battle between Israel and Go and Magma and the nations to the north. This event is going to take place after the Millennial reign of Christ Jesus on earth. At that point, “Satan will be released from his prison. After that, he is going to gather a large group of people with him who are from Go and Magma and nations to the north of Israel. They will follow the devil to the beloved city. This will be Satin’s last effort to conquer the place and sit on the kingdom throne as king of kings and lord of lords.
However, fire of God will descend from the Lord to destroy that large group Of people who will follow Satan to the beloved city. After that, Satan will be cast into hell, where the antichrist’s and the false prophet will have already been after the battle of Armageddon. Hence, Ezekiel 38 and 39 go parallel with Revelation 19 and 20. The events in these passages will come into existence after the seven year tribulation on earth. “The events of Ezekiel 38 and 39 transpire at the end time when Israel has already been restored to the land, the Messiah is present, and she has entered into the Peace covenant with Yeah her Lord. By this time, all war and battle as we know it will have already come to an end. The believers will have already been in heaven. Their works will have already been judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ at the Judgment of Believers’ Works. Living nations will have already been judged at the Judgment of Nations, where the paved nations will be in heaven and the unsaved ones will be in hell. Then, the unsaved people will be judged at the Great White Throne Judgment, and these people will spend eternity in the lake of fire also known as hell.
GO AND MAGMA One may wonder about the difference between Go and Magma that we read in Ezekiel 38 and 39 and the Go and Magma in Revelation 20. This prophecy began with “Go, of the land of Magma. ” The two names are considered two separate places in Revelation 20. “One major difficulty is that Seek. 38:2 does not straightforwardly combine the two names as does Revelation, but speaks instead of ‘Go of the land of Magma. Moreover, John’s reference comes in what is one of the most difficult sections of his book, which throws up a plethora of interpretative difficulties. This is where many people have been confused with Go and Magma. There have been individuals who, after posing questions on this matter, tell the curious people to read the Bible and watch the news. Even then, there are questions that have been and will come in connection with the Go and Magma matter. Go is the leader and prince of the troop. He is also the prince of Meshes and Tuba. Solid historical records point to Magma as the present day country of Russia. This makes sense in light of Go coming from the far north. Russia is the farthest country directly north of Israel.
In Hebrew, the prince of Ross is literally the chief prince of a place called Ross. This is the suggestion certain scholars have suggested concerning the land itself. Hence, Russia could claim its Soviet states one more time. There have been some disagreements in connection with the locations of Meshes and Tuba. Many people believe that these places represent the former Soviet states. At this moment, the former Soviet states are still independent from Russia since its fall in 1991. However, in 2008, Russia invaded the country of Georgia. This meant Russia was planning to rebuild the Soviet Union. The ancient Near Eastern nether word imagery, however, is a major aspect in the rest of the Book of Ezekiel. ” What the prophecy of Ezekiel indicated was that Russia will govern over the former Soviet States at the time of the war. Before this prophecy is fulfilled, Russia will either reconvene these territories, or they will submit to the rule of Russia one more time. Go is said to be the title of a leader. It appears as a supernatural being elsewhere in the Word of God, namely Revelation 20. However, he is considered to be killed and buried.
Ezekiel ‘the prophet presents Go as a historical prince leading a diverse coalition to attack Israel (with no suggestion, despite a number of scholarly reconstructions, that they are mythological or demonic forces). ” This piece of information suggests that Go will be a human leader. Most probably, he will be controlled by a demonic spirit or a fallen angel. Go is considered a chief prince, not a king. This means that Go is not the supreme leader of Russia at the time of the invasion. The human leader lead by the demonic spirit could end up as the Prime Minister of Russia at the time of the war.
The reason for this to occur is cause the Prime Minister is the office below the President, who is the second in command, or the chief prince. On the other hand, the title of chief prince could instead be related to a rank within the angelic realm under the devil, such as the prince of Persia– which is the present day country of Iran- who fought against the heavenly chief prince, the archangel Michael. Howbeit, the Michael the archangel told Satan that the Lord rebuked him. He kept in mind that vengeance belonged to the Lord and that He would repay.
The next thing that we encounter is that Go will reluctantly be persuaded to lead this fight by God Himself. What will come to play is that Go will have to follow the will of God. What Ezekiel points out is that horses will be involved in the war. Ezekiel used terms that were familiar to his audience in order to describe present day weapons and transportation that he saw in his God given vision, such as fighter jets and tanks. Russia still uses a horse cavalry to this day. The horse cavalry has always been used in Russia ever since it became a nation.
Russia became an independent nation on the 12th of June 1992. THE GO AND MAGMA BATTLE Ezekiel pointed out the remaining participants in the Go and Magma war. Iran, Libya, and Ethiopia will be a part of this war. Libya and Ethiopia had larger territories respectively than they do today. Sudan, Algeria, and Tunisia might also be included in the future struggle. Historians indicated that Comer used to cover parts of Eastern Europe, possibly as far west as Germany, and east to the former western Soviet states, including Ukraine, Belabors, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.
Finally, Turkey and Armenia are possibly included in Beth Autograph. Ezekiel points out to us that this is going to be a massive army with many individuals under the leadership of Go. Satan will ether all individuals who lived during the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ and are not saved. They will follow the devil to the beloved city in order to occupy it and sit on the throne as king of kings and Lord of lords. Ezekiel said in his prophecy that Russia will rule the former Soviet states to the south at the time of the war. They will be represented by Meshes and Tuba.
Before this prophecy takes place, Russia will either re-conquer the southern territories, or they will submit to Russian rule again. Comer represents the western states, and Ezekiel prophecy indicates that they join Russia in the conflict hat will occur after the tribulation on earth. With that said, Russia invaded Georgia in 2008 and recognized South Associate as an independent state, and invading Ukraine in 2014, with Crimea breaking away and aligning with Russia. The governments of Russia and some of the former Soviet states are predominately atheistic.
The common denominator in the other countries that join Russia is they are all Muslim nations. The more fundamental sects of Islam believe that Israel does not have a right to exist. Many Muslims believe Allah has called them to destroy the Jews and take the Holy Land again. Russia could probably be pulled into this war, as the result of Israel making an offense against one of their allies. It is interesting that the second country listed after Russia and its territories is Persia, or modern-day Iran. Currently, Iran is developing nuclear technology, presumably to make weapons.
Their Islamic ideology says that these nuclear weapons would be used to destroy Israel and possibly any nation that sides with Israel. Many people predict that when Israel feels the threat that a weapons development is imminent, they will go in and strike Iran’s nuclear facilities, as they did to Iraq in 1981 and Syria in 2007. Due to the close ties that Russia has with Iran, it is possible Russia will begrudgingly lead the retaliation, if Israel takes out the Iranian nuclear sites that they helped build.
The other nations, being Muslim, will be making every effort to destroy Israel, which has been their plan since Israel became a nation. The Go and Magma war will be in the “latter years,” which is the end of the age. Jewish people who have come out of exile, or brought back from the sword, will be living in Israel. Our generation has seen this prophecy fulfilled. Several times Ezekiel points out to us that Israel will be dwelling safely. ” The word in the original Hebrew for dwelling safely can have a meaning of feeling safe, but not necessarily being safe.
Jews in Israel may not feel completely safe because the countries that neighbor them are enemies that want to annihilate them. That being said, everyday life in most parts of Israel appears to go on normally and peacefully, despite the threat looming nearby. Also, despite the continued threat, tourism in recent years has skyrocketed. Because of the repeated prerequisite for Israel to have peace and safety before the Go and Magma War, something more concrete eke a peace treaty or covenant is in view, instead of just a feeling of safety.
The tribulation period on earth will be the seven-year covenant that Israel will confirm with the antichrist’s. Another possibility is that peace and safety could be expected after the defeat of Israel’s immediate neighbors. Peace and safety for Israel is possible because Israel’s immediate neighbors are not included in the Go and Magma horde. In fact, Scripture supports this notion. The following passage even uses the same Hebrew word “batch” found in chapter 38 of Ezekiel for dwell safely, or securely.
The Lord spoke to the people through Ezekiel, “When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and am hallowed in them in the sight of the Gentiles, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to My servant Jacob. And they will dwell safely there, build houses, and plant vineyards; yes, they will dwell securely, when I execute judgments on all those around them who despise them. Then they shall know that am the LORD their God. “‘ For all practical purposes, Israel is presently a land of “UN-walled villages. However, because of Palestinian terrorist attacks, construction of a security fence began several years ago. Portions of the fence surround Jerusalem, but it is not complete. The construction has slowed due to resistance from the Palestinians and the legal battles over it. Because of the huge attention and political nightmare made over the security fence, the security will surely be taken down prior to the Go and Magma campaign. However, taking the fence down will make Israel more vulnerable to attack. An important note to make is that Israel is all alone in this conflict.
The United States is among the young lions that will not participate in the war, but not owing to the aid of Israel. At some point before this war, Israel will have lost all her allies; only God will come to her rescue. God will force Russia to enter the conflict by a “hook in the jaw,” but they will be at tentative to the spoils of war. In addition to the prerequisite of Israel feeling safe, it will be a wealthy nation at the time of the war. Ezekiel describes Israel as having goods and services from other countries. In fact, Israel is much more prosperous than her neighbors.
However, Israel could greatly increase her wealth by discovering oil. In recent years, Israel found a massive reserve of natural gas if the coast of Haifa. This is already drawing conflict with Lebanon. Israel has major oil reserves that could add icing on the cake, being plunder and great spoils for Russia to take, in return for helping out their allies. In the 2014 conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Russia threatened to turn off the natural gas supply to Europe through Ukraine, which makes up about a third of Rupee’s supply, if they back sanctions against Russia over the Ukraine conflict.
Due to this threat and the possible economic ramifications, Europe may look elsewhere for their natural gas to red cue their dependence on Russian oil. Potentially, Israel could replace Russia for exporting natural gas to Europe. Russian’s loss of income could be motive to attack Israel and take their natural gas as spoil. God will be revealing Himself to the world in this war through judgment. This war will likely take place during the Tribulation because God is pouring out His Wrath. Major tectonic and atmospheric forces will be the tools of God’s judgment in this war.
A major earthquake in the region will flatten the mountains. This could awaken dormant volcanoes near the enemy line, and rain down fire and brimstone on them. God will also bring a mighty thunderstorm on the army. In addition, God will bring confusion to the attackers and they will kill each other, just like the enemies of Gideon and his men did in Judges 7. Definitely this will be the most horrific event in human history since the flood, and will have consequences that will shake the rest of the world because the battle of Armageddon will be the last war and every member of the human race will be involved in this war.
There is an interesting prophecy in the book of Haggis. Some believe this passage is a possible parallel of God’s judgment on the Go and Magma armies: “And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggis in the four and twentieth day f the month, saying, ‘Speak to Curable, governor of Judas, saying, “l will shake the heavens and the earth; And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, everyone by the sword of his brother.
In that day,” gaits the LORD of hosts, “will take thee, O Curable, my servant, the son of Sheltie, gaits the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, gaits the LORD of hosts. M What we see in the second chapter of Haggis is that the twenty-fourth day of the tenth month is a very important day to consider. This prophecy was partially fulfilled in the victory of the Macabre revolt of 1 65 BC. This is the event that people of the Jewish faith commemorate in the holiday of Hanukah.
After the victory in the Macabre war, the Jews started the process of cleansing the temple on the twenty-fifth day of the tenth month of the Jewish calendar. The Jews would light the first candle of the menorah at sunset on the twenty-fourth day. The complete fulfillment of the prophecy will be the Go and Magma War, which could sibyl occur on the twenty-fourth day of the tenth month of the year of its fulfillment. PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER God reiterates that Go is the prince of Ross, Meshes and Tuba.
Further evidence that Go is a supernatural leader is in Daniel 1 0:13, where there is a supernatural leader called the “Prince of Persia” who Michael, the archangel, struggled against, as mentioned earlier. Michael told Daniel that there was also a supernatural leader of Greece. We wrestle against “principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, [and] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. In other words, Satan has organized a spiritual military, complete with commanders to spiritually attack humans of all nations.
In the “Go and Magma War,” this spiritual war will manifest into a physical war, with Gods judgment coming against the partakers. Go’s army and “those who live in security in the coastlands” will come under judgment. It is not clear who these coastland dwellers are. The damage will extend to Europe and/or the Americas. The reasoning behind this is not easy to comprehend, especially since many believe that the Western nations are Tarnish and their young lions. The damage will extend back to the attackers’ countries.
Perhaps more specifically to the organizations and people who have supported the anti-lesser campaign; particularly Islamic terrorists. Incidentally, many of those who fund these Islamic terrorists live in the rich cities of the Middle East coastal areas, such as those in the Persian Gulf. These people may feel secure because of the massive army that will come together to carry out their campaign. God is not going to allow Israel to profane His name any longer after this war.
In addition, God is reiterating that He will be revealing Himself to the world in judgment. This seems to support the notion that the 70th week of Daniel has commenced. God will be dealing with Israel’s transgression during the seven year tribulation on earth. Many prophecy teachers today believe that these weapons will be nuclear, thus “burned” as nuclear energy. The amount Of weapons that will be plundered will not be enough to burn for seven years. Rather, there will be a limited seven-year period of burning these weapons by those who dwell in Israel.
Note that the prophecy in Ezekiel 38 and 39 does not say that it is God’s people, or the house of Israel, who will burn the weapons, but those who well in Israel, which is not limited to only Jews; other people groups live in Israel too. This is important to remember for our discussion later about the timing of the war. The burial place of the man who will be controlled by Go is in Israel, east of the sea. ” East of the sea” is the land east of the Dead Sea. Ezekiel tells us that this land will belong to Israel.
Today, this land is part of Jordan. This supports the likelihood that Israel will defeat her neighbors and expand her borders in a war prior-to the Go and Magma War. It will take seven months for the house of Israel to bury the dead. Based on the carnage scribed, the mess would take a lot longer to clean up without the help of scavenger birds. The detailed method of cleanup, described by Daniel, is the same used in nuclear decontamination today Ezekiel describes a regional war with Go and his armies.
Right after this, the Word of God describes a seven- month cleanup and burial. But then in this passage, the birds come to feast on all men of war. The Go and Magma armies will be bird food, as specified in Ezekiel 39:4. What we see here, however, is that, all men of war will be given to the birds and beasts, not just Go’s men of war after this feasting God will ring the Jews back to Israel. The gathering of the Jews will be at the end of the Tribulation. In contrast, Jesus commands the Jews to run to the mountains and hide during the Tribulation.
In short, all of Ezekiel 38-39:16 cover one regional event, and Ezekiel 39:17 thru the end of the chapter appear to cover another event on a global scale. It is not uncommon for separate events in prophetic passages to appear written as just one event. There are several passages of Chrism’s first and second comings in the Old Testament to demonstrate this. In this case, Ezekiel 38-39 appears to describe the opening and closing scenes of the Tribulation. CONCLUSION What we see in Ezekiel 38 and 39 is parallel to what we read in the twentieth chapter of Revelation.
Both of these passages look at the end times. All of these things will take place after the church is taken up to meet the Lord in the air. “John’s original contribution, according to Oboe, is to recast Go and Magma as enemies of the universal people of God rather than enemy hosts bent on ravaging ethnic Israel. ” John paints a vivid picture in the Book of Revelation as to what will take place in the future. From the fourth chapter of the book until the very last one, he shows us what is yet to occur, from the future of the church to the coming of existence of the new heaven and the new earth.
While there is a vivid parallel between Ezekiel 38 and 39 and Revelation 20, “Ezekiel ‘Go oracle’ may be one of the most neglected passages of a neglected prophet. ” The reason for that to be the case is because a lot of people do not read, meditate or study these important passages which stress on the future events. Many churches do not preach on the future events. Many churchgoers do not believe that these events will occur. However, the end times are upon us. Therefore, we need to come as close to God’s Word as we can. When we consider what is happening in the news, some of the stories should let us know that the end is near.
