It is important to know that there are some learning strategies to help students how to learn English. Those strategies are learning English by the use of the internet and learning English in a classroom. But there are some students that do not have success on learning English and there are some questions about it: Why some students are not successful English learner? Is it effective to learn English by the use of the Internet? Is it effective to learn English in a classroom?

Those questions will be discussed in this essay. Why some students are not succesful English learner? Maybe because they have a hard time in understanding grammatical structure and memorizing new words. Students need a study plan for improving their language ability. Although those students are not successful second language learners, they, in a sense, maintain relatively high motivations toward second language learning. . Teachers tend to give their students some advices about how to learn English mostly based on their experiences which does not necessarily fit the students’ learning style. The success on learning a new language not only depends on the concern of the student to learn a new language, but to know what is the most effective strategy to acquire a second language. But which characteristics does an effective learner must have? First of all, this effective learner must have a concern for communication and a capacity to use strategies flexibly in accordance with task requirements. This implies the use of the Internet as a learning strategy.
