The money that the industry generates is positively affecting the countries, but how the women get involved in the industry is negative. Sex is a fun past time, so what is the harm in paying for that fun time?
Most women that are involved in sex ours are also linked to a huge sex trafficking ring, especially in countries with lower quality of life. When visiting a different country some people’s main goal is to have a good time with a local. If the customer has the money there are women available at a higher price that look better than the women at a lower price.
Other types of prostitutes that can be bought at higher prices are, children, certain ages, and certain aces. They advocate the National Plan of Action against Commercial Sexual Exploitation Of Children. 19 La Strata was founded in 1 995 and the organizations combats against human trafficking. 20 Latvia has a few organizations that are not located in the country that help ban human trafficking; one of the organizations is located in the United States. A major flaw in the system is that many people do not realize that some of the women are victims of sex trafficking. Another flaw is that some of the government officials are crooked and may know but will not do anything to stop the trafficking.
Both Countries eave tasks forces that are within their police departments that focus on human trafficking. Czech Republic set up the force in 1 996; there are a total of 50 full time officers in 2007 that focused on forced labor. These forces are not able to catch every human trafficker, but the ones that they do catch are punished for the crime. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNDO) between the years of 2005 and 2006 a total of 26 victims that were helped were subjected to sexual exploitation. 22 Twenty-nine people had been investigated within those years with the majority being ale.
Out of the 26 victims a majority of them from other countries, Ukrainian victims were the majority with 9 victims. 23 Latvia established the offense of trafficking in 2002. 24 Latvia introduced laws against trafficking women who were aboard in 2000 and added a national action plan for 2004-2008. In 2003 a special task force was introduced into the police department, which included 19 full time officers in 2008. In 2006, 26 people were brought to the justice system; this included 14 females and 12 males. All 26 were prosecuted for crimes Of sexual exploitation along with another 6 cases that involved sexual exploitation.
Between the years of 2004-2006, 7 of the victims in Latvia were children. All victims that were helped in Latvia had Latvia citizenship.
